Letters : to Lydia Clark, 1812-18[18].

3 autograph letters signed. Two of these letters to Clark's wife are written from Plattsburgh, New York, during the early days of the War of 1812. He mentions a brief suspension in hostilities in August, 1812. In October, he writes of an American victory at St. Regis. Later, after the war, in 1818, Clark writes from Washington D.C., where he was trying to prove his innocence in an alleged plot to overthrow the government.
